Founded in 2004 by Prathan Poopat and Flavio Girolami, Common Projects focuses on high quality footwear that is comfortable to wear in everyday life. The basic idea was born exactly from this - a comfortable everyday sneaker with the best quality, without having to sacrifice a timeless and stylish design. The result was Common Project's signature sneaker, the Achilles, with a minimalist design. Large branding is dispensed and replaced with simple gold numbers representing the model, color and size.Common Projects sneakers are made in Italy in a factory that previously only made suit shoes, relying on Italian leather that is sewn by hand. Common Projects has since expanded to boots, loafers and is inspired by basketball, tennis and running. Their most popular models like the Achilles or the Chelsea Boots are also available in women's sizes since 2009.
