The history of the Nike Shox begins back in the 80s, when Nike was looking for a mechanical version of its cushioning and, together with designer Bruce Kilgore, sought an alternative that seemed to come from another universe. The result is steel springs in the heel that not only create a unique look, but also achieve a new level of cushioning. The most legendary running silhouette among the Shox is probably the R4 with its curved upper in silver, perforation holes and, of course, the springs in the heel, which also comes in a Women’s version with smaller sizes. In "Black", it is kept entirely in black, allowing the silhouette to stand on its own. Only the transparent logo detail on the tongue is given an orange touch.
