Marni - A label without rules

Consuelo Castiglioni and her husband Gianni Castiglioni founded the fashion label Marni in Milan in 1994. The label was named after Consuelo Castiglioni's sister, who is also called Marni. Since 2016, Francesco Risso, an ex-Prada designer, has been the brand's new creative director.The label is known for its luxurious prêt-à-porter collections, which are made in Italy. In the beginning Consuelo Castiglioni's collections were unconventional and had the intention to give young women the message that they should wear whatever they like. Even today, Marni does not adhere to any straightforward rules: The collections combine old and new, as well as basics with colourful prints. Since 2002, the brand has also enriched the men's fashion world.
