Undercover - High Fashion x Tokyo Underground

Jun Takahashi founded Undercover while still a student in Tokyo in 1989, as an aspiring designer he was and still is particularly inspired by grunge, punk and Tokyo's underground scene. The brand took off as Takahashi and Nigo, founder of A Bathing Ape, started their own store in Harajuku in 1993 and more people took notice of Takahashi's designs, including even Comme des Garçons Rei Kawakubo. She gave Takahashi the courage to showcase his designs outside of Japan, with success!

As a master of deconstruction, Takahashi's pieces are a unique mix of high fashion and urban style. The words chaos" and "balance" run through many pieces in his collections, perfectly expressing his flair for different concepts in one design - he mixes his high design know-how with conflict in his collections and on the runway. Meanwhile, Undercover already collaborated with icons like Supreme, Nike, Uniqulo, Hello Kitty and was one of the first to work with artist KAWS. So, for streetwear with a punk, grunge edge, Undercover is the place to be!
