Air Max 90 "Black Denim"

The NIKE Air Max 3 brings back the iconic running silhouette from 1990 in a bold, all-black new version. Designed by Tinker Hatfield, this classic mixes its signature lines with an unusual combination of denim, nubuck, and mesh. Subtle vintage details give the shoe a modern, intentionally raw look. Black mesh on the toe and collar meets a soft nubuck mudguard and denim elements on the sides and eyelets. Visible light stitching highlights the different materials, while the deliberately unfinished edges add a subtle worn character to the classic runner. A small Infrared-23 hangtag adds a splash of color, referencing the iconic Air Max 90 colorway. The denim is especially distinctive—giving the otherwise monochrome design a textile, almost utilitarian feel. The black nubuck mudguard offers a soft contrast to the textured denim, while the mesh forms the breathable base. Inside, a woven label replaces the usual printed size and production tag, emphasizing the shoe’s textile character. The visible Max Air cushioning in the heel delivers the classic comfort you expect. Together with the traditional foam midsole and legendary waffle outsole, the Air Max 3 stays true to its running roots.
